I tune, repair and install climate control systems on pianos. A tuning can take from 1 and a half to 2 and a half hours, but regardless of the time required the charge is $95. Often, the tune-up also requires freeing up stuck keys, replacing a broken wire or other work to facilitate the tuning. More often than not, this will be included in the tuning charge. I will usually play the customer's piano for ten or fifteen minutes after I have tuned it. It is important to me to encourage people to play their pianos. I have been doing this in the Salem/Metropolitan area for the past thirty plus years. I love doing this work and hope that I can continue for another thirty years.
