This 1992 Fender Standard Stratocaster with Vintage Tremolo features a poplar body with a Black finish and upgraded Gold Anodized pickguard, a maple neck with a Shallow “U” profile, a synthetic bone nut, and Fender standard tuners, a maple fretboard with 21 vintage style frets, a 9.5” radius, and dot inlays, and these come equipped with the stock Fender pickups and electronics.
First thing eagle eyed Fender lovers will notice with this beauty is a walnut truss rod plug on an MIM. No black plastic here. In the first part of production in Mexico during the early 90s there were parts shortages while production was building up in the Ensenada factory. Specifically you want to keep an eye out for MN1 and MN2 serial numbers.
They ended up using parts from the American factory. Word on the street is if you’re really lucky you’ll find an MIM Standard with a neck with a heel truss rod that was originally intended for the AVRI Series. This would have gone on an American Standard.
So essentially at the end of the day you’re getting that American quality without the price tag normally associated with it…. Never mind owning a relatively rare piece of Fender history in the process.
Condition is Very Good. Expect general play wear, scuffs, scratches, dings, and a small neck pocket crack. Frets show a little pitting. Needs a little extra work done. A few frets on the b string are choking out past the 12th fret. Check pics. Has been cleaned up, frets polished, fretboard cleaned, new strings. DR Strings TITE-FIT 10-46.
Comes with a Gigbag and Tremolo Arm.
