This 2005 Fender FSR "Silver Sister" Standard HSS Stratocaster features an alder body with an Inca Silver finish, a maple neck with a matching headstock, Modern “C” profile, synthetic bone nut, and Fender standard tuners, a rosewood fretboard with 21 medium jumbo frets, a 9.5” radius, and dot inlays, and this comes with the stock pickups.
I only recently discovered that not everyone likes matching headstocks. Two things….. Really?!?!? And also, more for us!!!! Internet tells me they made 500 and based on the serial numbers I’ve seen, I THINK this is #90.
Don’t get this model mixed up with the current “Standard” series out of Indonesia. They are not the same. The current Standard series is more a Fender branded Squier. This model is the equivalent to the current Player Series MIM model.
I’ve spent a few weeks with this before posting. I could go on and on with details but the short story is, this is a winner. Never mind the aesthetics…. It just plays extremely well, especially when you consider the price. Bends have the right amount of give and fight while the chords are comfortable and resonant.
The condition is Very Good. General play wear and a few small dings. Nothing crazy.
Frets are in excellent shape with no visible pitting. Check pics. Has been cleaned up, frets polished, fretboard cleaned and conditioned, new strings. DR Strings TITE-FIT 10-46.
My tools/scale clock everything at
1st fret neck depth .88”
12th fret depth .88
1st fret width 1.65”
12th fret width 1.96”
7 Lbs 14 oz.
