This D’Angelico is a high quality, smaller semi-hollow body guitar with a full centerblock, stop tailpiece, and a single deep cutaway for full access to all parts of the slim profile C shaped neck with rolled edges. The guitar is very attractive to look at, has a fast neck that is super easy to play, and it sounds killer with the Seymour Duncan 59 pickups with coil taps. The careful craftsmanship using quality materials and hardware have made this a fine musical instrument that plays and sounds fantastic.

FYI:
D’Angelico makes two different lines or levels of the SS guitar, Premier and Excel. The Premier is the entry level guitar with a current list price of $699. The Excel line is a professional level instrument with much higher quality design, craftsmanship, and components. The current list price for an Excel SS is $1,999. Also this SS has the more popular stop tail piece for better tuning and easier string bending. I hope this helps with any confusion about the different SS models.
