Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a reputable client partner seeking an experienced Seed Processing Manager to join their team in Tangent, OR. This is a high-level leadership opportunity overseeing seed processing operations, production teams, quality standards, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced agricultural manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and oversee all phases of commercial seed processing, seed treatment, and packaging operations
• Provide direct daily leadership and interaction with processing supervisors and team leaders
• Manage quarterly and annual processing budgets across all operational stages
• Ensure quality standards are achieved across all work centers
• Support mid- and long-term capital planning and capacity planning initiatives
• Manage teams of full-time and seasonal employees during processing season
• Develop and manage work schedules for 24/7 processing operations
• Develop senior supervisors to maintain high standards of production, quality, safety, efficiency, and timely shipments
• Create workflow diagrams and determine equipment capacity and operational limitations
• Develop, maintain, and annually update SOPs and work instructions
• Ensure products meet or exceed established market quality standards
• Communicate start dates, expected timelines, and completion dates for shop orders
• Promote communication, teamwork, and collaboration between departments and work groups
• Coordinate with the Quality Manager to improve sub-par seed lots to market standards
• Collaborate with Operations, R&D, Quality Control, Engineering, and Project Management teams to implement new technologies and improve processing methods
• Communicate and coordinate operational direction with international parent company teams
• Maintain compliance with all company safety policies and procedures
• Maintain dependable attendance and assist with additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Management, Operations, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of seed industry, production, or manufacturing experience required
• Knowledge of production and agricultural operations preferred
• Previous budgeting and financial/accounting experience preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, project management, and time management skills
• Ability to travel locally and internationally as needed
• Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production environment
