Looking for an entry-level position with room to grow? We’re hiring motivated individuals to join our team! No experience is necessary—we provide paid, on-the-job training.
Join a modern public transfer station that supports our community’s waste and recycling needs through innovative waste management and resource recovery solutions. In this role, you’ll work at a conveyor belt sorting materials to help recover recyclable resources and reduce landfill waste.
Materials you may sort include organics, wood, metal, cardboard, rock, and commingled recyclables.
This is a physically active position in an industrial environment. Applicants should be comfortable working around dirt, dust, odors, and other unpleasant materials as municipal waste and recyclable materials are processed.
What You’ll Do
Sort materials on a moving conveyor belt while maintaining quality standards.
Identify and separate organics, wood, metal, cardboard, rock, and commingled recyclables for recovery and repurposing.
Communicate with supervisors regarding material flow and contamination.
Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Perform general labor and floater duties as needed throughout the facility.
Clean work areas and equipment when the conveyor line is not operating.
Provide backup support in the scale house, including customer service, answering multi-line phones, data entry, and operating office equipment such as computers, scanners, and printers.
Qualifications
No experience required—we will train the right candidate.
English communication is required. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
Ability to stand for extended periods while working at a conveyor belt.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Comfortable performing repetitive hand and wrist movements throughout the shift.
Reliable, safety-minded, and able to work well in a team environment.
Ability to learn and identify different recyclable materials and grades.
