Roller derby takes the adrenalin rush and competition of football, removes the ball, and puts you on eight wheels. No one grew up playing roller derby, so if you have experience with skating or full-contact sports, especially hockey and football, you already have a leg up on most of the athletes. Come check out the Lane County Concussion. We teach you all of the basics, and we don't put you in the line of fire until you're ready.
We practice Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 pm at the Bob Keefer Center for Sports and Recreation on 32nd St. in Springfield. Feel free to just drop in at one of our practices and see if it is something you might be interested in. Please introduce yourself to any of us (we don't bite: we just hit), and we will answer any questions you may have. If you want to get on skates, shoot us an email ahead of time, and we can line up some skates and gear for you to try.
