Hens n Chicks=Sempervivum tectorum is a wonderfully tough and drought-tolerant plant that will thrive anywhere, as long as it gets sun and has free-draining soil. You can grow it in the ground in a mixed planting or over a larger area as groundcover. For something less mundane, you could create succulent walls, screens and unusual containers. It also makes great party favors.

If you want to plant as groundcover or to edge a path, set them 6" apart or so and they'll multiply and grow together quickly to form a solid green mat. Sempervivum makes a far better weed suppressant than the bark-mulch-and-weed-killer combination.
The last two photos (before the H/C in the cans) I posted are what they look like during the winter (more purple).
These are extremely easy to plant -- just stick them in the ground or drop them where you want to plant them. They're almost impossible to kill and seem to reward neglect.
The plants will be bare-root:
$1 for dime to quarter sized, or $2 for bigger ones up to a softball size, $3 for bigger ones. Some are real big! At these prices, I've sold over a thousand already.
Retails at stores for $4 for the small ones. Compare and you'll see. Look at the example pix off pinterest of what you can do w/ these. See pix.

These are forever lasting. They will outlast a rose, tulip, daisy, iris, orchid, sunflower, carnation, poppy, daffodil, pansy, iris, lilly, cactus, buttercup, lotus, hibiscus, marigold, lavender, holly, cherry blossom.
